Last week our Ellison Employee Engagement Champions held a spring event for our global teams. The event was held as a fun way for our teams to get together virtually and in person, enjoying a few treats and appreciating each other’s company.
Monday was Ellison Pride Day where our teams wore clothes in our Ellison branded colours and enjoyed a breakfast buffet. We also shared stories about our journeys in the business on our social media page on Workplace by Facebook.
On Tuesday we hosted a sports day where our teams got to compete in an egg & spoon race, beanbag balancing, cornhole and some team building games. There was also a steps contest that day where everyone was challenged to walk 6,000 steps. The winners of the challenges won Ellison medals and California poppy growing kits.
Wednesday was Vacation Day where our teams dressed in their best vacation clothes. We all enjoyed some ice cream whilst playing tropical vacation music in our offices and warehouses throughout the day.
On Thursday we hosted a Throwback Thursday event where our teams shared throwback photos of themselves from when they were babies, children, or teenagers. These images were posted on our Workplace from Facebook page and our colleagues had to guess who the individuals were. Everyone had great fun guessing who each image belonged to. There was an Amazon voucher for the winner of our Throwback Thursday competition who posted the funniest throwback photo.
For our last day of the Ellison Spring Event, we held a Freaky Friday day. Our UK and US offices swapped places with a British theme in the US office, and an American theme in the UK office. The offices were decorated for the theme, the team got to enjoy treats such as chocolate and candy from the opposite country, and we played music of artists from the relevant country. Our US team even dressed up as their favourite British stars such as characters from Harry Potter. It was a great way to end a fun filled week!
Rebecca Jones, Office & Events Manager said:
“The event has been great for encouraging engagement with our teams both online and in person. Being able to have fun together again in person after so long of being restricted with Covid-19 rules was priceless. Everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy the event which was great to see. I am very proud of what the Ellison Employee Engagement Champions achieved with organising this very successful event.
Look out for more events news at Ellison on this page again soon.
