XL LetterMachine Mylar Shims are used to compensate for the wear on the Cutting Pad. As the Cutting Pad becomes worn, it will be necessary to add one to two Mylar Shims. Never use more than four shims at one time. Remember to keep the Step Shim Assembly (sold separately) in the machine AT ALL TIMES.
