CREATE YOURSELF FOR THE SEASONS AHEAD WITH TIM HOLTZ AND SIZZIX
Next up for the altered artist is his take on Seasonal and Everyday Dies
LAKE FOREST, Calif. (July 19, 2011) – It’s altered art meets autumn. It’s grunge and ghoul. It’s vintage Christmas with every nuance of nostalgia. It’s iconic edginess and aged distress. It’s Tim Holtz and Sizzix. And it’s coming retailers’ way with a special preview at the Craft and Hobby Association (CHA) Summer 2011 trade show July 19-21, 2011, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill.
With more Alterations™ Dies and Embossing Folders to complement his motorized Vagabond™ Machine for Sizzix, Tim takes the next step of his creative journey by introducing unique new designs for Fall & Halloween, Christmas & Winter, Americana and Everyday Dies. Among the highlights of his latest, eagerly awaited assortment:
• Bigz™ Dies: Nine altered and oversized dies to create such vintage images as Candlelight Fright, Holly Branch, Tattered Pinecone, Easter Elements, Love Struck and more.
• Movers & Shapers™ Base Dies (for use with Movers & Shapers Magnetic Dies): Crafters can set the scene for some creative high jinks with imaginative magnetic backgrounds such as Carved Ornaments #2 that can be used with Noel and Peace Movers & Shapers Magnetic Dies (sold separately). Plus Pumpkin Jack offers more rearrangeable fun with Movers & Shapers Magnetic Mini Scary and Mini Silly Jack-o-Lantern Die Sets (sold separately).
• Movers & Shapers Magnetic Die Sets: 17 new miniature dies and sets (30 designs) have plenty of space to roam on Movers & Shapers Base Dies. Among the altered adventures ahead for crafters are the Mini Bat & Skull Set, Mini Tattered Leaves Set, Mini Love Struck Set, Mini Old Glory Set, Mini Old Jalopy & Arrow Set and Mini Tattered Florals Set – the happily awaited sequels to Tim’s Bigz version of the same designs.

• Texture Trades™ Embossing Folders: Sized perfectly for artist trading cards, these two SKUs offer a few of Tim’s most Spooky Things and Seasonal Stuff. Both sets are all about the altered appeal that creative types need to make a great impression – and then some!
• Texture Fades™ Embossing Folders: Six new releases including Halloween Background & Borders Set, Christmas Background & Borders Set and Springtime Background & Borders Set easily emboss so that select areas of the image appear perfectly faded and distressed.
• Sizzlits® Decorative Strip Dies: Perfectly antiquated, yet perfectly modern, four more of these extra-long dies offer one-of-a-kind antique artwork to embellish. Tim’s latest offerings include Autumn Gatherings, Festive Greenery, Vintage Lace and Alphabetical, a classic vintage alphabet on one die so you’ll always have the last word.
• On the Edge™ Die: Introducing a Distressed Doily that’s a retro remnant of Christmas past with a totally transforming Tim Holtz twist. Or how about the Butterflight design for the most edgy edges? Use either to cut eye-popping images up to 5 1/2" for cards, scrapbook pages, mini books and more.
One other new Tim Holtz product for Sizzix worth mentioning is the Alterations Edition Die Pick accessory. It helps easily remove the tiny scraps of material sometimes left in the crevices of steel-rule dies and would be a welcome asset to any crafter.
Of course, over 100 of Tim’s best-selling titles are also still available. These Everyday Dies from the Tim Holtz Alterations product line still remain immensely popular with consumers looking for a unique way to express themselves.
While all these releases are compatible with all the larger Sizzix roller machines, it’s the popular Vagabond Machine that truly lends itself to Tim’s altered art.
“With so many machines geared just toward paper, I wanted to create a different kind of machine that would alter a variety of craft mediums,” explains Tim. “In creating the ultimate portable and powerful machine that cuts and embosses everything from paper to Grungeboard®, we made sure that it not only looked like no other machine but that it

performed like no other machine.”
Resembling a well-traveled, vintage suitcase on the outside, the Vagabond easily opens up to reveal a small but powerful machine that screams Tim Holtz from the start. On closer examination, the Vagabond Machine impresses for its ability to easily cut many different materials and thicknesses … or as Tim sums it up nicely, “Can you think of anything better to bring on your creative journey?”
Crafters can also learn more about Alterations products at the store level or anytime, anywhere they have Internet access by using their smart phones to scan in the Quick Response Code found on the new Alterations product packaging.
